Jimmy Lang already has a championship under his belt in 2008. Now he’s looking for a big win to go along with it. Nothing would be better than winning the World Crown 300 at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia.
Lang ran strong at Peach State in 2007 before a wreck sidelined him for the day. Plans for this year are simple: finish what was started in 2007.
“I think now with Rich Lushes (Crew Chief) helping us we can go there are come away with a top-three finish,” said Lang. “You always want to go to the track and try to finish, but I think we are going to go there and run really well.”
Lang will also have some additional help as fellow ASA Late Model South driver Colt James will be serving as his spotter for the weekend. Earlier in the season, Lang and James had a brief on-track run-in at Orange County Speedway (NC). Many quickly thought a war was brewing between the two who have quickly become good friends, but they have moved beyond the incident.
guess that's ok, but we have to
“Colt and I are pretty cool,” added Lang. “I never really had too much of a problem the whole time. We had a scuffle on the track, but that was a racing deal. We talked a lot at Nashville and I think he will be great. Some of the best spotters are drivers or former racecar drivers.”
The World Crown 300 kicks off on Friday November 7th with practice. Qualifying will be on Saturday and the racing on Sunday.
